History and Overview:

 The International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM & AW), has been in existence for 116 years with over 1,300 Locals and 113 District Offices throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Canada. We are active in more than 200 basic industries. The IAM & AW are affiliated with the AFL-CIO, Canadian Labor Congress, Railway Labor Executives' Association; International Labor Organization, International Metalworkers Federation, and the International Transport Workers Federation.

In Hawaii, Local Lodge 1998 is 54 years old. We represent approximately 2,500 Federal and 200 private sector Employees. Our Executive Board (EB) and Directing Business Representative (DBR) are elected by the General Membership. Shop Stewards are also elected or appointed to represent the workers in our areas of jurisdiction. Our office is located in Kalihi, Hawaii. Locally, we are affiliated with the .AFL-CIO, Hawaii State Machinists' Council, Hawaii Federal Employees Metal Trades Council, Hawaii Newspaper Printing & Trades Council and the Hawaii Council of Defense Commissaries Unions.
